Christmas in the Campo 2007

It's always a treasured time when family can gather for whatever occasion. This year Karen and Marcus along with Marcus' extended family were able to come to Cordoba for Christmas. We had a wonderful time together!

Church Retreat : December, 2007

December 7-9, 2007 the church gathered at my place for our 2nd retreat of the year. We centered our thoughts and prayers around John 3:16: "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." A blessed time spent reflecting on what this verse means for one and all.

Follow down the blog for a short slide show of retreat photos.

Thanksgiving

I'm thankful for a safe trip to the USA. It was good to be with Mother and other family members for a couple of weeks. Pictured with me and Mom is John Richardson (Uncle John) who also lives in Rogers, AR.

I'm thankful for a safe trip back to the South. As I passed through BsAs on my way home, Karen and I went for a haircut. Karen's longer hair needed cut before the chemo took effect. Fun afternoon!

Psalm 1/More LSTers

A couple of pictures from the campo. Reminders of examples for us in God's Word. One... a big, old, green apple tree planted by the stream. She gives lots of fruit in her season. And... a recent planting of raspberries given me by a dear friend who lives in the area. As we work the ground and water, we wait for the plants to grow and produce.
Here are a few more faces to add to the LST readers: Griselda, Emiliana and Susana. Since Belen(R) speaks no English, she chats weekly with Nune as she waits for Emiliana. Sweet girls.

Thank You!

Two months ago a fire destroyed Gaby and Hector's home. Thankfully, because the stairway was external and not internal, Ana's lower floor of the house was saved. Many of you have helped by sending funds to put the roof back on the house before the rainy season arrives. You can see in the following pictures how rebuilding is underway. Also seen are some of the scares from the fire. Not all the black is gone.

Hector, Gaby and Ana want to thank you for all you have done to help them. Thank you! Thank you in the name of Jesus.

LST Readers

Below you will see some of the wonderful people who have come to practice their English by reading the Bible. There are 15 present readers. You will also see Nune. She is my dear friend who hosts me in her home when I come to the city. She also hosted all the LST teams this year. Often she is at the building with me as I read with the readers to open the door and serve coffee. A beautiful servant. I will add more pics to the slide show as I'm able to take them. Pray for the planting and watering of God's seed. Pray for these readers.

Karen and Federico

We praise God for His mercy and grace in Karen's life! This picture was taken not long ago of them on their balcony in Bs. As. They live in the Capital. Please continue to pray for her health.

Alto Alberdi church, Cordoba city

A few pictures from Cordoba city. ***The first LST team from Raleigh, N. Carolina: L to R, Roger Edwards, Madonna Higgins and Mark Stephens. The 2nd team from Ft. Worth and Chicago: L to R, Brandon and Amanda Detherge, Jessica Brown (not pictured Kyle her husband who stayed only 2 wks) and Erin Clardy. They worked hard as I've written in my reports. They blessed Cordoba! *** The group that meets weekly for 2 hours to learn more about leading small groups. Along with Pablo Lopez and myself is (L) Nune Tolosa. On my (R) is Cristina Ludemann. *** Santa Gomez de Lopez studies music with Elvida Ceballos. Elvida is blind and wheelchair bound. She is well known in the city as a music teacher. A good friend of the Tolosa family. Santa has a beautiful voice. Was a long time chorus member in Bs.As. The church is blessed to have Santa to learn from Elvida and in turn help the church with new songs.

Winter on the Mountain

A view of the house during one of the 4 snowstorms this winter. Lots of wood chopped. Fires to stoke. It's been unusally cold in Cordoba and all of Argentina this winter.
